Margaret O’Donovan, Physiotherapist, started treating bedwetting twenty years ago in her Canberra physiotherapy practice. Following requests from parents struggling with this issue who did not live in Canberra we launched our DVD program 10 years ago.
Prior to making the DVD we searched the medical literature on enuresis (bedwetting) to ascertain what research had shown in the past. We combined our experience as a G.P. , Physiotherapist and Pharmacist to offer a practical yet best practice guide to curing the problem without unnecessary intervention or medication. We combined this knowledge with the practical input from Margaret O’Donovan, Continence Physiotherapist, and busy parent.
The DVD Bedwetting Cured allows parents and children to use the program as a guide in the privacy of their own home. It is designed to combine the four most likely strategies to cure the problem and should be followed for three months. If after three months the child continues to struggle with the problem then it is time to make an appointment with a Continence Professional or Paediatrician.
Margaret O’Donovan has experience in Australia and the UK in large teaching hospitals, private hospitals and private practice and currently sees patients in her Canberra practice for continence issues as well as musculoskeletal problems.
Dr Mark Condon is a GP practising in the Wollongong area. He has worked in both hospital, university and general practice settings. He established a practice at Albion Park, NSW in 1992. He has had an appointment with the University of Wollongong Graduate School of Medicine and has been active in the teaching of both medical students and post graduate doctors. Mark was awarded Illawarra GP of the Year in 2009 and the Tongarra Medical Practice has been recognised in the 2012 Practice of The Year Awards.
Louise Kenny is a Pharmacist who has worked in community pharmacy, teaching hospitals in the UK and Australia as well as country NSW. Aware that country people find it more difficult to find help for specialist conditions, Louise knew that the DVD offered a solution to this problem of isolation. The Bedwetting Institute offers back up help by phone so that the DVD program can be followed no matter where someone lives.
The Bedwetting Institute staff continue to attend Continence Conferences and workshops regularly so that information given to patients is always the latest information, experience and research.
